Each state sets individual requirements. In most states, it is required to have a Master's degree in Architecture. This can be earned through a "4+2" program, or through a separate Master's which takes 3-5 years to complete after the bachelor's degree. Accrediatation also requires participation in an internship program after the M. Arch. is completed.

Becoming an architect takes a minimum of 8 years, although it can take longer. You need 5 years of school, about 3 of internship, and then you take certification tests.

You would have to go to a college and ask. But I think it depends on your placement in college. You'll have to take a test to see how long.
