the Nile is over 3000 miles long disgorging its flow into the Mediteranean Sea though its delta in northern Egypt. It is composed of two main branches which join at Khartoum Sudan. The Blue Nile, the shorter branch rises in the Ethiopian highlands, while the White rises in Lake Victoria.
