A freezer-refrigerator contains a compressor that liquefies coolant and radiates heat from the heat-exchanging coils behind. When the coolant evaporates it absorbs heat and cools the inside of the refrigerator.

Refrigeration works by compressing a gas by mechanical means, compressing the gas causes it to become colder, this compressed gas is passed through a radiator in the interior of the fridge cooling the contents. The compressor both generates heat during operation, but also moves heat from the interior to the exterior.

The back is like a motor that makes it work. Because it's always on and working, that energy causes the back to heat, but the insulation inside keeps things cold.

The heat from the back is from the motor of the machine, it is not the machine heating up. It's like air conditioning in a car, cold air comes out, but the motor still heats up in the process.
