Good places to look for and/or get an idea for a cotumes are Etsy as well a various costume websites. If you are making a costume a good material to use i felt in that it is eay to work with and can be both glued and sewn. Another idea is to get green longjons and go from there.

Have your son find a dinosaur that he really likes and start working on a pattern. The best way to make your own pattern is to use newspaper. This way you can draw out what you want the costume to look like from the picture your son picks out.

Take orange felt, cut into the shape of spikes. Take a lot of cotton balls and spray green spray paint to color them green. Then put your child in a plain onesie and, making sure her or his face is covered, spray them with spray-on glue, and have them roll around in the cotton balls. Attach the spikes where needed.

You can find patterns for dinosaur costumes at just about any craft store that sells fabric. Most have a wide variety to choose from.
