You can easily layer hair by creating volume through the different lengths in the sections. The higher sections should be shorter than the lower sections.

If you layer hair,the texture of the hair makes a big difference in how it will look.For straight hair you section hair from top to bottom of head,then cut higher layers shorter so the ends show.The layering can be dramatic if you want it to be.Many variations are possible.

Hair is usually layered by cutting it shorter in near the face and longer toward the back. Using your fingers, section the hair and cut it at an angle. Repeat the process as necessary.

In order to have you hair layered, you need to go the salon and have someone do it for you. They are going to cut it from bottom to top and on an angle. They cut the shortest at the top of your head.
