This is all done by PH levels in your soil. They say PH doesn't matter but it does. Plant your lilies in well drained soil.

Lilies are easy to care for. Ph levels don't matter. Lilies should be planted in well drained soil. During blooming season, pinch spent blooms off but be careful not to remove too much of the stem. During blooming season, careful not to bend or damage new shoots, otherwise they will never grown again.
