Lily-of-the-Valley is a perennial that does best in shade and can even be planted in the shade of large trees or shrubs. It is a hardy plant and will thrive where other plants die. It does well in all different kinds of soil but will spread quickly so it is best to not plant in a flower bed.

Lilies of the Valley can grow almost anywhere given the right temperature and watering. It is ideal to keep the plants in partial shade. Lilies of the Valley can even be grown indoors if the temperature is too cold outside or too dry. They grow best in zones three through seven.
