Antacids are an acceptable cure for indigestion. It is advised to take the antacids when symptoms arise and/or one hour after meals. They are over the counter and not harmful to the fetus, though it is encourage to take in moderation to prevent constipation.

It is certainly safe to eat tums while pregnant. To use a heart burn medicine, you should consult with your doctor first. Some people also swear by eating yogurt claiming it coats the stomach and helps.

You can take antacids along as you don't over do it. I would try to eat kiwi. Eat two kiwi per day, this will help with heartburn and indigestion and that way you can help control the number of anatcids you eat. Kiwi worked great for me when I was pregnant and I still eat it.

Antacids are ok to use if they work. However, I've found that the most effective way to cure indigestion is drinking water and simply to avoid those acid-causing foods in the future.
