Nintendo DS does not have Internet browsing capability. It is has a wi-fi function but it solely based on the game being played. The DS can connect to a wireless network but it does not have any built in internet functions. The only network function built into the DS is the chat function. It does not require a network.

when playing a game that can be connected to the internet, go in to options/network on the title screen. It will ask you to search for an access point. When one is found, tell it to connect, you may have to enter the wep key (password) for the router, or manually enter an IP address.

Put a wireless compatible game into your DS and turn on. Access wireless option. Select Nintendo WiFi Connection Settings and search for wireless point. The Blue Lock means Connected.

This kind of depends on the model. (Ds, Ds lite, DSI) Actually I'm A liar, For the DS & DS lite you need to try editing the wi-fi settings in A wi-fi Compatible game. (usually the option is on the main/title screen) For the DSI/DSI XL, go to options, internet settings, and then enter your password. (And some other stuff)
