Microscopes work by using magnifying lenses. There are several lenses that go through the tubes. The lenses can be adjusted on the side by using knobs and this can improve the intensity of the magnification.
Microscopes work using a series of lenses which magnify the image of the sample which is being viewed. This makes it much easier to see detail which is not normally visible under the naked eye.
