Question by  Cheryl (11)

How do I restain a wood deck?

Answer by  Stephen75 (160)

First, you need to "power wash" the deck or wooden surface you are re-staining. This will remove any unwanted debris and old stain or finish that would interfere with applying your new stain. Make sure you do not spray too close to the wood or it will splinter.

Restaining a wood deck is very easy. First you will want to powerwash the deck thoroughly. Go to the local hardware store and pick out your desired stain. You can either use rollers or spray the desired stain on with a stain sprayer. Your restained deck will look beautiful. Good Luck!

Start by thoroughly cleaning it with detergent. Let it dry then apply the stain as per the direction. Once it is dried seal it with a quality sealer.

You first need to strip off any loose or pieces of old stain or paint. Using a power washer or scraper is the easiest way depending on the size of the area. The you can paint on new stain or spray it on.
