You cannot reduce the gross vehicle weight rating on a truck the factory design of the vehicle determines that initially and it is then imprinted on the decal that also contains the vehicle vin number and other important data, sorry.

To reduce the weight you will need to remove items from the truck or take off additional metal. Usually one of the easiest ways is to get a fiberglass hood which will usually lower the GVWR by a few hundred pounds.

There are many ways to reduce the weight, but the main way is to take out the back seats, air conditioning unit (condenser, tubing, etc. ), spare tire, and interior paneling. There are other ways such as replacing parts with carbon fiber, but removing all these items should net about a 100 lb decrease in weight.

Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is the maximum legal weight for a vehicle. it is most important for trucks carrying cargo. The gross vehicle weight includes the empty weight of the truck, driver and passengers. When a truck goes through the scales on the highway and the weight exceeds the GVWR.

By doing any thing that will affect the frame or structure of the truck you will either heighten the gvwr or take it down.
