How can I get my birth records from Cali, Colombia?

I need my birth certificate to get married in the US.

To get any kind of personal details, you need to talk to the authorities of the concerned country. These offices are there to help you survive in foreign countries, all you need to do is go to the respective consulate. They're your own countrymen/women, you can count on them.

Actually all the answers are incorrect, you have to know which notary you're registered in, then file a request there. If you do not know the notary, then do a search through the national registry. It'll take a few months.

The best place to start would be to contact the United States Embassy in Bogota, Colombia. They can help you gather certain records and in other cases, lead you to the right offices.
