No, the VIN number is etched onto the car (typically seen through the windshield on the driver's side). This would not be a safe thing to do because if your keys get stolen, it makes it easier for a thief to find your car. Your vin number is located in several spot on the car but not the keys.

Car keys do not have VINs located on them. There are a few places on a car that have a vin number. They include the windshield, door, and engine. I have worked at a hardware store that makes duplicate car keys for the past twelve years, and at no point have I seen a VIN listed on the car key.

Well most car keys do not come equipped with a vin number. Mine certainly don't although they are authentic. I believe car dealers don't provide you with that sort of keys.

The VIN number is a number associated with the vehicle chassis itself, and is not associated with the keys or ignition system. There are no VIN numbers printed on keys.

AS far as I Know no keys have a vin number printed on them. However certain newer key to have a coded transponder in them that only allows that key to start it. So the ignition cannot be started with a non-coded key.

They very rarely do, but in some cases, something else is there. Most cars that do have identifying information, however, contain it in a RFID or other such chip which is activated by an electronic ignition. This information is stored at the dealer and manufacturer, and is usually on more expensive cars.
