Birds have a very hightened sense of color; they actually see color more intensely than humans. It is believed that this may be natures way of helping them see food sources from the air. The bright color of berries, against a canopy of green foliage perhaps. There are differences of opinion on animals, but the bull does not see red.

Yes, as a matter of fact. it is believed that they see better than men. Birds have developed vision. They have a retina which is more complex than that in human beings. Among the mammals, birds have variety of cone cells with morphological complexity. Although all birds see colors, their capability may differed upon the species of the bird.

They certainly can, and far better than humans. Birds have more photoreceptors (and even types of photoreceptors) in their eyes, which means they can see a lot more colors than humans - including ultra-violet. Also bird retinas contain no blood vessels, which means their vision is less impaired by shadows and light-scattering.
