Any living creature can suffer the same types of emotions as a human. It could also be ill and I highly recommend you bring it to a vet qualified to examine birds. It could also be something as simple as not getting enough sunshine.

Well, pets are like people. Probably it needs some sunshine or a companion. Spring is almost here, so probably getting them both for your pet is not a bad idea. Those will definately increase your pet's self-esteem. Talk with it cheerfully, it should help too.

Yes bird do get bored, depressed, and angry. Lack of attention is the biggest cause for birds to get quiet. If it's a lone female, and it starts to lay eggs, you need to pay close attention to the bird, and give it new toys and it's favorite food/treats. Make sure to keep any bird stimulated.
