Assuming you mean a store bought pregnancy test, then yes it can. Check the directions included with the test. There is likely some fine print in the instructions or on the package that indicates possible causes of false positives or false negatives. If you are sure, either wait a couple days and try again, or go see your doctor.

This can happen if you test too soon or take the test wrong. If you still think you're pregnant, try in a few days or get a blood test.

It is more likely to get a false negative result than a false positive result from a pregnancy test. Check again in a few days or see your doctor.

Yes a pregnancy test can be wrong. The answer depends on the brand purchases and whether or not the instructions were followed. A test by your doctor is best.

At-home tests are fairly accurate, but not 100%. Thus, it can be wrong. Tests used by doctors are much more reliable.

Actually the urine dip tests used in hospital and clinics are exactly the same as a dollar store pregnancy test. That can give false results. The only sure fire test is a beta blood draw.
