Are there conservative vegetarians?

I know some exist because I know several of them myself. A lot depends on what their motivations are for being a vegetarian. Those who are vegetarian due to health reasons can be either liberal or conservative, but people who are vegetarian for ethical reasons (such as opposition to the treatment of animals) tend to be liberal.

In my view, a person's political stance does not go hand-in-hand with ones decision as to be a vegetarian or not. A person's decision to only eat vegetables can be made stricly on a health basis and not their views on politics. So it would not surprise me if a conservative was a vegetarian.
