Are Orthodox Jews allowed to drink alcohol?

Yes. Orthodox Jews can drink alcohol IF it is kosher. They do drink wine at many Jewish holidays. Wine is required at some events, such as Passover Seder every year (4 wine servings as part of the meal) and the Sabbat (sabbath) blessing (every week, one sip of wine if not more).

Yes, Orthodox Jews are allowed to drink alcohol, provided that it is kosher alcohol. Alcohol actually forms an integral part of many Jewish ceremonies and celebrations. For example, during the Shabbat meal, there is always a prayer said over a glass of (kosher) wine. In an Orthodox household, this would always be done by the oldest male present.
