Question by  walker (3)

Would it do any good to spray tent worms with high pressure soapy water?

They are too high in the tree for me to get to them any other way.

No that would do more harm than good. It would destroy the tent and scatter the worms and all that will do is help them spread to more trees faster.

The soapy water alone probably won't kill the worms, but the soapy water will help to open-up their webs. Add some household ammonia to the soapy water in your high pressure sprayer and that will kill the worms! I have used this simple and easy solution many times, and it has worked every time for me!

They are unsightly, but not badly destructive. You can spray them with the soapy water, but if you can spray them with Bt Caterpillar Killer, it's nontoxic and more effective.

Soapy water will help. You might want to try Murphy's oil soap because oil will suffocate them. If you can get spray try Vick's Oil Spray that is the best.
