Why is my guinea pig such a spaz?

Guinea pigs have varied personalities, just like people. Maybe this one just needs some time to get used to you, or he might be a 'spaz'. If there are actual spasms/seizures or particular sensitivity to being stroked, it's a different matter. Mites or neurological problems can cause these symptoms. If present, find a qualified EXOTICS vet for a checkup.

Guinea pigs have all kinds of personalities. Some of them are shy or antsy around people, others are more comfortable. However, if the spazzes seem like seizures, or if s/he seems sensitive to being touched, then it might be mites and you should take your pig to a qualified exotics vet for an exam.
