Why is my arm swollen?

It's very likely the spider bite caused the swelling. You should see a doctor for treatment before the area becomes infected and necrotic.

It could be a reaction to the spider bite. But if it was more than a few days ago this is not likely. Maybe the bite left a small wound which got infected. When there is an infection your arm should also be painful, warm and red. Maybe you kept your arm to quiet because of the bite.
