Why does my truck not crank when it gets hot?

Well if starter start to spin slowly or not at all then you might have a heat soak issue. When the motor of the starter gets very hot it tends to not what to function correctly. To fix this either shield the starter or wrap the exhaust pipe beside it.

Well your car might not crank when its hot because you starter might not be working correctly or over heating.

voltage is supplied to coil on positive terminal-with key on voltage is usually the same on both terminals until key is turned to crank position key on is run position and when engine is spinning over it is in crank position-the coil stores voltage and when you spin over engine the pick up coil inside distributor breaks a magnetic field
