Why do I keep seeing the number 55?

Random Chance. Before you reject that notion, note that there are only 9 unique numerals and out of all the two digit combinations of which, you will always have a fairly good chance of getting 55. Don't put too much stock into superstition or it will end up controlling you.

Seeing a particular word or number is a trick your mind plays on you. The number 55 was always. Something called the number to your attention once. Then you noticed another 55. The surprise of the coincidence programmed your brain to look for other examples of 55 - so you saw them everywhere. After awhile, the effect wears off.

You are not. Human's are conditioned to see patterns, even when they don't exist. You see 55 as much as any number but something caused you to notice this number.
