Why did my guinea pig die?

That depends on the age of the animal. In general small rodents do not live past a few years at most and it may simply be that he was old.

Guinea Pigs can die from a variety of reasons including age or improper diet and handling. Many guinea pig owners do not realize is guinea pigs eat their own feces,this is actually neccessary for them to be able to process the nutrients in food,so overcleaning cages can be a hazard!
