If your copy of Microsoft Office is an expired trial edition, then saving of files is disallowed, though you can still view them. This also happens if you have a pirated edition that has been detected by Microsoft Genuine Advantage. Either way, you need to buy a new, legitimate copy of Microsoft Office.

There may be a problem with your installation of word. Look under Help for 'Detect and Repair' and try running this to resolve your problem.

There could be different reasons why you can not do that. Check if the write protection of the file is activated. You can check this with the explorer if you make a right click. Try the network connection as well, to be sure, that you have all network drives.

The most likely cause is that you're working with a "read-only" document, or one that you can only view. Micro Soft Word has protection for these kinds of documents, so that you can't edit them.

This is quite a rare problem. Possible reasons could be a full hard-disk with no additional space to save the file, too long a file name, copy protected file etc.

Your documents are probably not supported by the word you are trying to save it in. Maybe your document was written in pages. You should try maybe switching to a newer word format in which your document can save succesfully without any further issues. Try resaving all of your work.

2 reasons, if you are working on a preexisting document then there might be protection rights. The seconds reason might be your hard drive is full.
