I am having a hard time with my toolbars in MS Word, I would like to lock them so that they will not get in my way of the project I am working on.

There isn't a way to "lock" the quick access tool bar in MS Word 2007. Your options are to customize or hide it.

You can make the toolbars disappear by double-click any of their tab titles. Later if you want to invoke some function, click the tab title.

Toolbars in Microsoft Word cannot be locked, they are suppose to be freely adjustable. You can however, lock toolbars in OpenOffice. Org

If you are wanting to lock these types of toolbars then you will need to right clock and then hit lock

Just click one of the tabs and right click, take the check mark out of the 'minimize the ribbon box' that locks the toolbar.
