Who was the winner of the hypothetical war between the US and Russia?

Economically, the US won hands down. Sociologically, again the US as the Soviet theory of government collapsed under it's own weight when the government itself imploded. I feel that the definitive moment came when free citizens breached the Berlin Wall, thereby showing to the world that the Soviet Block could not longer imprison its citizens, ending an era of control.

There was no real winner of the Cold War. But if you had to pick a side I would the US won because the Cold War was essential a war between Communism and Capitalism, and Russia is no longer communist.

It is true that the USSR and the US didn't gain much in the war. It was entirely technological, and if you look at it in the success, then the US won. The US got to my moon and landed men there, and the USSR began to collapse under communism.
