You need to explore the different possibilities posed by the question, using your common sense and what a reasonable person would do under the circumstances imposed. Generally, this type of question is designed to have you explore both sides of the situation, and to propose solutions which can resolve the issue at hand or what the final outcome might be.

In order to answer a hypothetical legal question, you must find out what the question is, pretend it was an actual question and find out what the answer would be.
