Proscan is an American-only brand of Thomson Consumer Electronics. This French company is the owner of the RCA electronic brands. Proscan was first introduced in the early 1990s, and has been phased out for the Scenium brand in much of its market. The Proscan brand name is still used for plasma and HDTV LCD televisions.
Proscan used to be the RCA high-end trademark; RCA (at least the TVs) was purchased by Thomson; they leased the proscan name to a Korean outfit that has the TVs add a comment
