Taiga is the largest biome group in the world and can be found in North America, Europe and Asia in the high mountains. Taiga is the Russian word for forest and typical plant species found in the taiga are lichens, mosses, and coniferous evergreen trees like pine, white spruce and Douglas fir.

Taiga is the largest of the major biomes. It stretches over the northern portions of Eurasia and North America. The temperature is below freezing for much of the year, and due to this, not much plant life can be found there. The plants that do grow in the taiga are mainly evergreens and needleleaf trees.
