Snapdragon flowers need a lot of sunlight so, they should be planted in a spot where they receive full rays of the sun.

Plant the snapdragon after the last frost. Space 10-12 inches apart. Snapdragon plants grow best in rich to average soil. Use plenty of compost in average soil. This plant grows best in full sun. This is a hardy plant.

Snapdragons prefer partial to full sun, and do best in cool conditions. If you live in a hot climate, you may want to plant them where they will be shaded during hot afternoons. In a cooler climate, they will probably thrive in full sun.

They do well in full sun, but will do just as well in part shade. You can make them bushier by keeping them pinched back to about 3 inches. This dose of course delay the blooming. They are just as pretty if you leave them alone and let them grow tall and bloom all the way up the stalk.
