The fuel pump is generally the main part of every fuel injection system. A volvo's fuel pump is generally located inside or at least near the fuel tank. A fuel pumps main job is to create a decent amount of pressure allowing the injectors to deliver the correct amount of fuel.

The fuel pump is going to be inside of the gas tank. You can drain the gas out of the tank and then pull the two strap off of the gastank and bring it down. You will have to undo the wires and then take the cap off. The fuel pump will come out with the cap.

The fuel pump is located in the back of the car. You will need to go under the car to find the pump.
