Fuel pump issues can plague owners of many different cars. While it may be true that Hyundai may have a few more fuel pump issues, it is likely some of this may be coincidence.

Not that we know of. They typically run forever. Depending on the miles, it could be the company you are getting fuel pumps from, could be not enough fuel pressure, sending unit may be bad.

The 2008 Hyundai Elantra had a recall on fuel pump problems, so enough people had a problem to cause a recall.

Hyundai had a very large recall of their Elantras a couple years ago due to faulty fuel pumps. While this doesn't apply to all Hyundai cars, they have had issues.

Do you repeatedly run your fuel tank toward empty? The in-tank fuel pump relies on the cold fuel in the tank to keep the pump from overheating. Running the tank near empty exposes the pump and allows it to burn out.

Yes, there have been a lot of reports of people having several different problems with the fuel pump. The fuel pump will actually need to be replaced in the best time possible.
