There are books out there specifically geared towards teaching kids how to do woodworking. A woodworking book for kids would have a selection of simple projects to start them on.

well you can find patterns on the computer go to woodworking . and you should fined birdhouse and benchs in a simple pattern, and just about anything you want to make and a pattern for it on there. It will tell you what kind of wood you should used and what paint to use
