"Lateral" is a suffix basically meaning "sides," while "quadra" is a prefix meaning "four." So a quadralateral is anything having four sides. A square, rectangle, diamond (aka rhombus), or trapezoid would be a quadralateral, to name a few examples.

A quadrilateral is any four sided figure. However, quadrilaterals are technically only two dimensional. If you're asked to find pictures of examples, you should pick things that are relatively flat. So, some examples of objects that could be considered quadrilaterals are billboards, CD cases, doors, or even windows.
