When I turn on the TV, the power light is on and there's a ticking sound, but no picture or audio. Why?

It could be the tv tube blew, as in the picture is gone, the only way to fix it would be to replace it, which would be very expensive, and would normally cost half if not more of the price of the tv. Iwould just replace the tv.

I think the principal cause is the tv power is on in stand by mode. Maybe you need to find a button to switch between stand by and power on , or maybe it's in another source like tv/video line 1 or another video line in.

It might have a problem with the play back or need to resolder the vertical or horizontal IC on the main board of the tv.

I had the same thing happen to me with my TV and the technician I spoke with said it was most likely the mother board.
