When does major league baseball season start?

The regular season for baseball begins around the first of April. I say "around" because the date can vary a little bit. They did start in early April but weather was still too bad in places so they went to a bit later. Regular season ends usually late Sept. /early Oct. Then playoffs and World Series.

The season is 162 games long and starts on the first Sunday in April each year. It ends on the first Sunday in October with a break in July. During this break the league plays its all star game.
