Every car is different, but you should let any car warm up for 5-10 minutes, no matter what. It's most important when it's cold outside.

Only cars with old fashioned carburetors need to be warmed up. Newer cars with electronic fuel injection prime before starting and have no choking mechanism making warmup unnecessary.

We need to warm up our car if we are keeping the car idle for many days, during this period engine becomes cold, hence this require warm up.

Personally, in the winter, I warm my ride up about 8 minutes before I head out the door and only in weather that makes my hands hurt.

As far as your engine is concerned, you only need to warm up your car if the outside temperature is freezing or below.
