Place 1st two fingers across the widest seams, slightly off-center towards the outside of the ball, tuck your thumb under. Apply pressure with your thumb & middle finger.

Learning to throw a slider requires a basic knowledge of finger, wrist and arm positions and how variations in those create sliders and curve balls. There are many books and internet sites that give detailed information on each pitch. A slider is similar to a curve ball in placement of the fingers, with changes in pressure and thumb position.

Go to the library and take out a book on how to throw the slider. Warch instructional videos. Get coaching from a pitcher who throws the slider consistently.
