Is there any indication of what caused it? If not, I would see if the swelling goes down in a day or two. If not, he may need antibiotics.

There are several things you need to do to help prevent this. The tank needs to have lots of fresh warm water, heated to about 70 degrees F. Also needs to have lots of sun in the tank. And food that is pellets and fresh shrimp. Cod liver oil tablets can help get rid of the infection also.
