What was the name of baddie from the Lord of the Rings?

Sauron was the main bad guy, who originally had the ring and was later a giant firey eye. Sauromon is the white wizard who fought Gandalf. Golum is the strange creature who went crazy from having the ring too long. The nine Ring Wraiths are the cloaked ones hunting Frodo.

The main villain, the eyeball on top of the tower, is Sauron. The secondary villain, the wizard from Two Towers, is Saruman.

The Dark Lord Sauron was the major baddie but there were quite a few others like Saruman played by Christopher Lee, Gollum, the witch-king, the Ringwraiths and of course the orcs and goblins that were Sauron's army men. And then there was Balrog - the dragon that Gandalf falls in the chasm fighting.

Depends on which you mean. If you mean the wizard who was a direct counter of Gandalf, you're looking for the name Saruman. If you mean the ultimate baddie (the one searching for the Ring), you are looking for the name Sauron.
