What the best place to retire in the USA?

Yes, i would recommend my home town of Shallotte,North Carolina.We have a great beach,also alot of wonderful golfing year around.We are also very close to wilmington N.C.

No, Connecticut is too cold in the winter for a retiree. A retired person(s) should move down South where it is fairly warm year round or out west to California, I would say anyplace in Florida, South Carolina or perhaps San Diego.

I recommend Northwest Michigan because it has all four seasons. The area has excellent outdoor activities like hunting, fishing or skiing. There are abundant casinos, cultural activities and live entertainment. Resturants range from independent regional resturants (my favorite!) to upscale dining. The best thing about Northwest Michigan is helpful, friendly the people. Strangers smile and say "Hi."
