What should I know before I hire a felon?

Find out what they were in prison for, hopefully the person has decided to be an upright citizen and wants to work and be part of the community.

Before hiring a felon, do some research to find out what crime was actually committed and then determine whether this person would be suitable for your establishment.

You should find out what happened to the possible employee, and keep an open mind. If you are already going to judge this person than maybe just hire someone else.

Keep in contact with their parole officer, if there is one. Look into the recidivism rate for their particular crime.
