Grant writers write grants. Underwriters fund grants. Hire a professional grant writer with solid references. Do not pay fees for a a grant writing "service" to find funding for you. That's a scam.

There are professional writers who specialize in grant writing. Depending on the type of grant and detail required, you can expect to pay anywhere from $60-$100/hour or a project fee of $1000-$8000, depending of the type of grant. Keep in mind that you get what you pay for.

I would post a listing on Craigslist, The Turk and Odesk detailing your requirements for a grantwriter. Some people work pro bono for a percentage of any grants acquired, while others require fees on an hourly or per project basis. It depends whether you have budget allocations for grantwriting.

You can post an ad for a grant writer on craigslist, general job search sites, or university job sites. Students are often just as capable but cheaper. Also, ask your friends and family if they know a grant writer that you can hire. Post flyers at your local library too.
