My dog has an auto immune disease.

You have to be very careful as to what the dog gets near as well as what the dog may be coming into contact with when it's outside. You also have to be very careful about insects and fleas because they will cause huge problems for you and your poor dog.

An auto immune disease is a disorder that occurs when the body is essentially attacking itself. A veterinarian will generally treat this condition with a short term prescription of steriods.

The primary therapy is corticosteroids. If the steroids do not work, Cytoxan or Imuran may be ministered. As heritability of autoimmune skin diseases is not studied, breeding is not recommended.
