If you lose your checkbook you should immediately call your bank and temporarily cancel all activity in your checking account and all linked accounts. You should continue to look for the checkbook and you should call and check your balance over the next few days to see if any activity has occured.

You must phone your bank straight away, they normally provide a number for lost and stolen cards or checks and have the checks stopped immediately. Tell them all the details including what date the check book was lost. If any checks are used they can be stopped and money will be refunded to your account.

Make a report to the police station in case it is found, which is doubtful that it would be returned. You then have to call the bank that issued them and let them know that you have lost them and want them canceled. You will also need to get new checks reissued.

First, you should call your banker to inform them you've lost your checkbook and you need the checks to be voided. You also must know the check numbers of the checks you lost to place a stop on the checks, just in case the thief used it during the duration of the lost checkbook.
