What should I do about water coming in too high in the toilet?

It could be that your toilet is getting clogged which means that you are getting high water in your toilet. try to unclog your toilet using a plunger. if nothing helps try draino in your toilet incase there is hair stuck or something. you never know what it could be. worse comes to worse call a plumber

Remove the tank cover.Flush the toilet and watch tank refill.If water rises to top of the overflow pipe,the intake valve did'nt shutoff take valve is controlled by float valve;adjust it to point at which it shut off simply by bending float ball rod until the ball is lower than before.

Well if the water is coming into high in the tank all you have to is adjust it theres a screw back there.

There are a few things you can try. First plunge it real good to make sure it is flowing right. Then adjust your float in the back of the toilet.

You could re-position the float so that the tank does not fill quite as high. Easier: put a half gallon milk jug filled with water in the tank.
