Freelance what? There are freelancers in most any profession. Freelancers do not earn salaries. They work on contract, the rate of which is negotiated, depending on the services to be rendered.
This depends on what you freelance in. Freelance programmers can make up to $100,000, if the contracts are short term, high pay, and they always have contracts lined up.

About half the gross of $100,000 goes to taxes. There are no benefits of any kind. They do NOT have contracts lined up. Some may; most do not. add a comment

Freelancers do not make a salary. If you are bringing in $1000/month, you you pay nearly half that in taxes. You also have no medical/dental, no paid vaca/holidays, no benefits of any kind. That's about $6000 NET. add a comment
