The salary depends mainly on what type of retail store it is (highstreet store?) and the size of the store. Often it's related to how much sales has been generated.
It really depends on the company. Lower volume store managers start around 25,000/annually, and higher volume, multi-million dollar department stores start around 40,000/annually. Don't forget the bonuses and incentives!
